What camera is best for me?

Deciding what camera to invest in is a big decision for every photographer, and it is a completely unique choice as well. Depending what you want your camera to do, or what you intend on using your camera for changes the option list.

For example, if you are going to focus solely on product photography in a studio, you would want something extremely high quality and it would not be a problem of weight because you could easily use a tripod. Whereas if you want to focus on travel photography you would require a much more lightweight camera that can easily travel with you. Weight is also something to consider here as it may be inaccessible to carry around a tripod, or monopod and you would want to keep the weight down to make sure you are able to keep the camera steady in order to reduce blur.

What do I recommend? For me personally I have recently been using the Kodak WPZ2 which is a very very small camera as I have been exploring documentary photography a lot more. This compact camera is great if you are clumsy like me because it is shockproof and waterproof up to 15m and comes in at around £150. On the other hand, if you are a beginner wanting to get something more studio based, a great first camera is the Nikon D7000 which you can find used for around £150 or new for around £360. This camera has some really great features without breaking the bank.

This being said there are thousands of cameras out there to choose from, doing your research and figuring out which one would work best for you is all a part of the process.
