Building a website
When starting the process of building a website, the best place to start is finding the best website builder for you and your needs. I first tried to use Cargo, I personally found this very difficult as it is much more technical and needed a lot more knowledge of computers than I have. I tried to persevere with it, using YouTube tutorials however it was just too difficult, which is when I moved over to look into Wix and Ionos.
With both Wix and Ionos they were a lot easier for me to navigate and use, however they had a lot more hidden costs that were stopping me from producing the website that I had envisioned which is why I eventually landed on Squarespace. This website builder allowed me the freedom to create exactly what I was picturing in my mind; it also has the function have both my portfolio work and my blog posts all in the same place.
Having found the best website builder for me I moved on to making some big decisions, like what brand colours I wanted to use to make sure it was consistent across all my work. My main brand colour is pink, and I chose this because it has connotations of femininity, and optimism and is often associated with a sense of playfulness and youth. My projects all vary in themes, but my latest project is a lot more emotional and has an element of coming of age so having my brand connote youthfulness was important to me to keep that continuity.
